How to become an Orgtologist

orgtology-practitioner How to become an Orgtology Practitioner...

From an early age, masters of their own trade always intrigued me. To this date I respect people who know what they are doing - be it a plumber, professor, business person, or sports hero. To me that was what success is. For this reason, the day when I could call myself an Orgtologist was a great achievement to me. This was a recognition of what I can offer as professional consultant. I flaunt this title with pride, and I hope that others will do so too. Yet, I also know how much effort I had to put in, and how many sacrifices I had to make to become an Orgtologist. Therefore, it would break my heart to see this title easily bestowed.

An Orgtologist is an organisational scientist who studies and applies orgtology theory within workplace dynamics and systems. The International Orgtology Institute (IOI) must certify a person to practice in orgtology. In other words, the IOI must assess an Orgtologist and find that ze meets all their standards for practicing in orgtology. The phrase was coined in 2017. In my post "What is Orgtology", I explain it as a scientific approach to understanding the dynamics and systematics of an organisation. It has two arms of study. The first is orgamatics, which studies the systematics of organisations. The second is organamics that study the dynamics of organisation. An Orgtologist is an expert in both. To begin training as an Orgtologist, one must have a recognised degree, after which the IOI will guide ze to do training and gain experience in the field. To stay certified, an Orgtologist must gain the CPD points as guided by the IOI.

As mentioned, to be an orgtology practitioner, the IOI must certify you as such. They have two registration groups. The first one is an Orgtologist, and the other is an Orgtology Specialist. The IOI will only take in students who have graduated from a university of good repute. After successful completion of the training, participants will earn the tile "Orgtology Specialist".  Those who want to earn the tile of "Orgtologist" will have to continue their research through the publication of an academic article. When an applicant provides proof to the IOI that ze has published an academic artile though a reputable academic journal, they will accredit the applicant as an Orgtologist.

The IOI Council may, where merit allows, bestow the title of Orgtologist or Orgtology Specialist on a person without any former qualifications. They will only consider this if a person has significantly contributed to the field of orgtology. I envisage that this will only happen where a person has done vast research, which as result has advanced the field of orgtology. Simply getting an academic article published without doing the IOI online programme will not be enough to claim the tile of Orgtologists. In normal circumstances, an Orgtologists will first have to be an Orgtology Specialists.

Where the IOI admits an orgtology student, the applicant must do an online training programme that has nine modules. Of these, two are practical research modules and the other are online exam-based modules. They are…

Module 1: Introduction to Orgtology This module presents Hypothesis 2x  on Inverse Duality and introduces orgamatics and organamics as the two arms of orgtology.  It also helps the student to understand the role, rules, and ehtics of the International Orgtology Institute (IOI).
Module 2: The Resource System
This module works with the system that supplies and holds the people, money, and assets that Org must have to survive. It teaches Theory 2P of Work and works with the resource system and its applications.
Module 3: The Orgtelligence System This module works with the implied intelligence and tacit intellect of Org. It teaches Theory 2I of Orgtelligence,  and will show how monitoring, evaluation, research, and reporting feeds the risk and transformation processes of Org.
Module 4: The Relationship System
This module works with the relationships that Org must create and keep, to perform and to stay relevant. It teaches Theory 2E of Results and works with the relationship system and its applications.
Module 5: Research Project on Orgamatics This module begins with Theory O of the Relevant and Performing Organisation (RPO). Once students have passed the online exam, they can begin a research project on orgamatics. The student will do guided research on how the principles and theories of orgamatics can create and maintain the maturity to be a Relevant and Performing Organisation.
Module 6: Intrapersonal Dynamics
This module works with the relationship that a person has with hirself so that ze can have healthy relationships with others. It teaches Theory  Sx on Identity and works with its application on intrapersonal dynamics.
Module 7: Team Dynamics
This module works with the relationships that create the dynamics within teams, and the effect that it has on the work of Org. It teaches Theory Px on Paradigm and works with its application on the team dynamics within Org.
Module 8: Leadership Dynamics
This module works with the traits that leaders must have to secure relevance and which managers must have to enable performance. It teaches Theory Ix on Intelligence and works with its application on the leadership dynamics within Org.
Module 9: Research Project on Organamics This module begins with Theory D on the Relevant and Performing Individual (RPI). Once students have passed the online exam, they can begin a research project on orgamatics. The student will do guided research on how the principles and theories of organamics can enable a person to be a Relevant and Performing Individual.

Apart from completing the online programme, an aspirant orgtology practitioner must prove 50 practical hours in the field of orgtology. To retain certification as an orgtology practitioner, the member must annually maintain a minimum of 50-hours in the practice of orgtology.
